Vals Liu is a Vancouver-based artist and educator whose work draws on contemporary social experience and traditional Chinese culture.

Born in Shanghai, Liu moved to Vancouver in 2001. His work has been exhibited in Shanghai at the Hilton and Sheraton Hotels (1990–1991), and in Vancouver at Winsor Gallery (2002–2003).
​
He is the founder of VSA Youth Art Foundation and VSA Art + Design Studio, where he has taught and mentored students for over 15 years. His students have gone on to attend top art colleges and win major art competitions worldwide.
